Q: Do I need to register to make a donation?
A: No, you can make a donation without registering. However, registering allows you to create your own projects, leave comments on the site and give efficiently by adding Gift Aid to your donation.

A: Your donation, minus any payment provider fees, is given in full to the project beneficiary.

A: No, for your protection we do not store any payment details on our web site.
Q: Are my donations anonymous?
A: Lifted Loads will not disclose the identity of the donor or the beneficiary at the point of donation. So, a donor would be able to see to whom the donation was sent and a beneficiary would be able to see who the donation came from.
Q: Do I have to have a PayPal account to start a project or receive donations?

Q: I have created a project, but I don't see it listed on the site.
A: When the project is first created it is in a Draft state. You then have to Submit it from My Dashboard so that it can be reviewed by the Charity representatives. If you have submitted a project and have not heard back from anyone for more than two weeks then please let us know.
Q: How are submitted project reviewed?
A: The review of submitted projects is done by select representatives from your Charity. It's their job to establish that the need is real and the amount asked appropriate. While this process may not be perfect it is there to prevent abuse and give confidence to potential donors that their donations will be going where they are needed.
Q: Why is there a "Giving not allowed" message on some projects?
A: Giving is not allowed on projects that you have created or that you are a beneficiary of.
Q: Can the project beneficiary claim Gift Aid on my donation?

However, you can request a refund from the beneficiary via the project funding email (you should receive this as part of a payment confirmation email from PayPal). Ask the project beneficiary to go to the Transaction Details page for your transaction and click 'Issue a refund'. You can request a refund up to 180 days after you have made a donation. If the beneficiary doesn’t agree to refund your money, you may need to open a dispute with PayPal or your credit card company.
